Darkspeed team member Ivan Nguyen took a box of Darkspeed Slide pucks with him down to Summerland B.C. for the first annual Giant's Head free-ride and race. He passed some free sets out to some of the top riders in the world who attended including young speedboarding top gun Kevin Reimer (K-Rimes) who won the Sullivan Challenge last year plus Danger Bay 7 this past May. The pucks received high praise whilst being tested to their limits on the steep 13 hairpin course under extremely fast and hot conditions. Giant's Head is considered by many to be the most technical longboarding hill in Canada and perhaps the world, and once the riders tried Darkspeed pucks they preferred to use them for the rest of the weekend on the incredible hill instead of their regular pucks.
K-Rimes won the race, while Patrick Switzer of Longboard Haven took second and Darkspeed's Ivan took third, all whilst 1st and 3rd using Darkspeed Slide Pucks. Not bad for a product not even a month old!! |
